P90X Results and Recovery Formula P90X Results and Recovery Formula Review

If you’re like me, then you do a lot of research before deciding on whether or not to buy a product. I totally get it, and I do the exact same with my fitness supplements. I think it’s hard to find an honest review of a lot of products, because frankly… people want to sell them to you. In my experience, the best way to find out if something works is to first research it and see if it’s for your (and legit), and secondly…try it. This is exactly what I did with the P90X Results and Recovery Formula, and I want to do is educate you about and offer you my honest opinion on the supplement.

P90X Results and Recovery Formula – What is it used for?

Well, long story short… P90X Results and Recovery Formula is used to help replenish the glycogen in your muscles that has been depleted during your workout. If you are unfamiliar with what glycogen is, then you you can read all about it at these two links (Link #1, Link#2). If you read over both of those pages, you’ll pretty much know more than 99.9% of the people in the world about it… lol. However, if you’re like me and just want the quick run down then here it is: Glycogen is a polysaccharide that is the main form of carbohydrate storage in animals, and primarily occurs in muscle tissue, and in the liver. Why is this important to you? Well as your body needs energy during your workout,  the glycogen in your muscles is converted into glucose (energy) and therefore depleted from your muscles. Make sense?

This is where recovery drinks like the P90X Results and Recovery Formula come in handy. A decent recovery drink will help replenish the glycogen that has just been depleted, and get your muscles on their way to healing faster. Healing or repairing your muscles rapidly is ideal because it eliminates soreness, allows you to work harder during your workouts, and allows them to grow. THESE STEPS are the very first in getting great results from working out… well, behind the actual workout!

P90X Results and Recovery Formula – What’s in it?

  • If you’d like to check out the entire ingredient label for the P90X Results and Recovery Formula , then you can do so right HERE (that link will download the packing label for you to view).

Well, to start… the P90X Results and Recovery Formula has 220 calories per serving with 39 g of carbs and 10 g of protein. This sounds a little off because we are so used to hearing that we “need to drink a protein shake” immediately after working out. However, that’s just not the case! Although you DO need a solid protein source after working out, the proper carbohydrates are equally as important. A good recovery drink is one that provides about a 4:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio….and that’s what a lot of the more popular products are pushing today.

Some of the key ingredients in the P90X Results and Recovery Formula to note are dextrose, creatine, arginine, and glutamine, all of which help to facilitate muscle recovery and replenish energy. It is also packed with a good balance of electrolytes and vitamins that help replace what’s being used up in exercise. All of the ingredients combine to leave the P90X Results and Recovery Formula with that ideal 4:1 carb to protein ratio that I mentioned above.

Quick Note – Just Because I Receive This Question A Lot! = )

  • CHOCOLATE MILK IS NOT LIKE RECOVERY FORMULA!  On the net, you can find many discussion boards that say you can substitute the P90X Results and Recovery Formula with chocolate milk…which is true. You can actually substitute it with gasoline if you wanted… wouldn’t that make sense? Folks tend to think this because the chocolate milk DOES have a similar carb to protein ratio; however chocolate milk does NOT have the electrolytes, vitamins, and the antioxidants you will get in the P90X Results and Recovery Formula. Frankly, you WILL NOT get the same kind of recovery from chocolate milk as you will from the P90X Results and Recovery Formula.

P90X Results and Recovery Formula – Common Objections?

I’ve been coaching for almost a year now, and I’ve found that some people are turned away by the P90X Results and Recovery Formula simply because it has a lot of calories (220 cals) and carbs (39 g). They think that these amounts will slow their weight loss progress down, and I won’t lie… this was my concern at first as well. However, what’s important here is NOT the fact that the P90X Results and Recovery Formula is high in calories and carbohydrates, but what it’s made of.

The high carbohydrate content comes from the fact that the P90X Results and Recovery Formula has fructose (fruit sugar) in it. It’s a totally 100% natural sugar, and is actually a good type of sugar for our bodies to have. From my experiences with it, and from working with others, I can’t recall anyone ever reporting that this product actually slowed their weight loss or body fat loss at all. Actually, a lot of people report that the P90X Results and Recovery Formula keeps them feeling less sore and more energized, so they are able to work harder….which in turns leads to more fat loss.

Another common objection I hear about the P90X Results and Recovery Formula is the price. I think at at $49.99 (about $1.50 a serving) it’s actually pretty affordable. If you compare it to other recovery drinks you might find at GNC, then I think most would consider that it’s at least in the same ball park. The only advantage that you may have at GNC is catching something on a pretty sweet sale. Other than that…most good recovery drinks will be in the same price range. I do hear people saying that they can get this or that from walmart (or other shops) for a lot cheaper, but the important thing to remember here is this… you get what you pay for! NOT all recovery drinks are created equally.

P90X Results and Recovery Formula – Coach Mike’s Opinion

I am biased here, but I firmly believe in the science Beachbody puts into their products. I know they produce TOP QUALITY products, and I’ve personally experienced how their supplements (like Shakeology) has changed my life. With that said…and I’m sure it’s no surprise here…but I actually really like the P90X Results and Recovery Formula. I like the way it makes me feel, and I actually look forward to it after a hard workout. I find the taste very pleasant as it reminds me a lot of orange-sherbet, and definitely helps with post-workout fatigue and soreness.

How I Mix It:

  • I like to put my P90X Results and Recovery Formula in a blender (or similar) with about 2 hand fulls of ice cubes and about 16 oz of water. Blend it up, and you’ll have a frosty orange-sherbet flavored treat! Like I said… I REALLY look forward to it after a hard workout. = )

Are there alternatives…sure! Is the P90X Results and Recovery Formula for everyone? No! As I mentioned in the first paragraph…this is my honest opinion of the product. I’m a firm believer in the quality that Beachbody produces, and I will highly recommend that anyone who is in the market for a recovery drink take a look at the P90X Results and Recovery Formula.

Finally, I hope that this post has been of some use to you and please leave me comments below letting me know your experiences with the P90X Results and Recovery Formula. Also, if you have a great alternative (with a similar 4:1 ratio), then I’d love to hear about it!

Thanks for reading guys!

Have you heard of anyone NOT tolerating the whey protein used in this product? I, too, am a firm believer in Beachbody products i.e. Shakeology, P90X, TurboFire & Les Mills body combat.

I cannot drink the Chocolate version of Shakeology due to the whey protein used in the product and had to switch to the vegan version. I’m concerned I may not tolerate this product as well.

Thanks in advance for any comments!

Lori… first off, I am SOOO sorry I missed this comment! I actually saw the notification when you posted it, but it slipped my mind to come and login to respond. Again, I SINCERELY apologize for the delayed response.

Ok, to answer your question…. yes, I have actually heard of a few people who are lactose intolerant having problems digesting the whey protein in the regular chocolate shakeology. I have NOT heard this about vegan as it’s a totally different formulation, but I would be more than happy to post the question in my coach’s to see what they would say. Just lemme know and I can promptly do this for you.

Im sorry dont have a better answer to your question, but again… I’d be more than happy to see what others would say.

Sorry, I should have clarified, I was referring to the whey protein used in the Results and Recovery formula, not the vegan chocolate Shakeology as that uses a protein derived form brown rice. Just wondering if anyone, lactose intolerant or not experienced a problem with the R&R formula. Interestingly, I’m not lactose intolerant which is why it took me a while to figure out it was the whey protein in the Shakeology. Anyway, thanks for responding!

Oh, I gotcha now…. yea, that is interesting that you have that reaction even though youre not lactose intolerant. As far as the R&R goes… I’ve honestly never heard anyone complaining that they’ve experienced an intolerance to it. Now, my knowledge is limited to the folks Im working with and the coaches in my groups… but this is a large number of people. = ) Hope this helps, some.

Also, are there any reviews comparing Shakeology to the Results and Recovery formula? I’m primarily interested in the similarities/differences between the two.

I don’t think you’ll find reviews comparing the two because they are totally different products. Shakeology is meal replacement geared towards weight loss but with added amazing health benefits, where the Results and Recovery formula is primarily used right after a workout is completed to help your body recover from the work you just did. Since the two dont really have the same purpose, you might have a hard time finding a comparison of the two.

Hope this helps some. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks! That’s what I thought after reading more info on the two. I’m curious to see how I like/dislike the R&R formula and if it makes a difference in my workouts. I’m starting the P90X/TurboFire hybrid schedule next week. Thanks again!

As long as you can tolerate it (and dont have a similar reaction as w/ shakeology) then you will love R&R. It helps A LOT with muscle soreness and recovery, and it tastes pretty dang good (kinda sweet). Good luck with the starting hybrid! My wife does (well did… she’s pregnant now) Turbofire and absolutely loves it!
